THE Bridport Local Food Group, the committee of volunteers who run the Bridport Food Festival, is holding their biennial ‘Best Breakfast’ this month.

The event will showcase the town and surrounding area’s local producers and suppliers as well as raising funds for this year’s food festival and other local community food projects.

Kathy Dare, chairman of Bridport Local Food Group, said: “We want Bridport’s Best Breakfast to be exactly that, a breakfast that showcases our wonderful producers and suppliers. We are very pleased to have some of the producers joining us too.

“Alongside we will be holding a tombola with great prizes.

“We hope to welcome you and all your friends so please spread the word and bring as many people as possible to ensure this is a great event.

“We look forward to seeing you there.”

The ‘Best Breakfast’ will take place on Sunday, March 17 at St Mary’s Church Hall from 9am to 12noon.

A full English breakfast will be on offer, as well as an Irish alternative to mark St Patrick’s Day, and vegetarian and vegan options.

Helen Choudhury from the Taj Mahal restaurant will also prepare an Indian breakfast, which will be available from 10am.

The cost of the breakfast will be £7 on the door or £6 in advance from Bridport Tourist Information Centre.

Breakfast for children under 10-years-old will be £4 on the door or £3 in advance.
