IT would appear that the plans to move services from Bridport Hospital to Dorchester were made without one iota of public consultation.
Local councillors were utterly unaware of the proposal, local hospital governors were taken by surprise by the news, whilst the general public has been kept in the dark.
We understand from a Dorset HealthCare manager that Bridport Hospital was identified as one of the county’s key community health and care ‘hubs’ in the recent Clinical Services Review.
I ask the simple question - why break up a winning team?
BILL MELLISH, Bridport
