MOTORISTS could face delays as a number of road closures will be in place across Axminster in the coming weeks.

On Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8 Woodbury Lane will be close to enable Devon Highways to undertake patching works.

The alternative signed route will be via the A358, A35, B3261 to Woodbury Lane.

Alexandra Road will be closed on Wednesday, March 6, Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8 also for patching works by the Devon Highways team.

The alternative route is King Edward Road and Widepost Lane.

First Avenue will also be closed on Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8 to enable patching works, with the alternative route being First Avenue, Millwey Avenue, Beavor Lane, Chard Road and vice versa.

Works on the George Hotel will mean Victoria Place and Chard Street will be closed From Tuesday, March 5 with the closure anticipated to be lifted by Friday, April 12.

The HGV diversion will be via the A358, A30, A35, B3261 and the A358, with all non-HGV traffic able to use George Street and Lyme Street.

Trinity Square and Silver Street will also be affected by road closures from Tuesday, April 16 for a maximum of three days, although work is anticipated to finish on the same day, between the hours of 8am and 4pm.

This is to enable the grand opening of the Heritage Museum and the alternative signed route will be via Silver Street, Church Street and West Street.
