RAIL passengers are warned of engineering works on the Weymouth-Waterloo line which will affect journeys over the next month.

The line between Southampton Central and Bournemouth will be closed all day on Sunday, March 3 for various projects including drainage work and the Southampton Docks Access improvement scheme.

Long distance passengers are advised to travel on fast buses which will be laid on between Poole, Bournemouth and Southampton.

Then on Sunday, March 10 the line between Weymouth and Wareham will be closed.

Busses will take passengers from Weymouth to Wareham where trains will be waiting. This also affect the Bristol line (Great Western Railway) and buses will take passengers to Dorchester West where trains will be waiting.

The same arrangements apply on Sunday, March 24 where the line is closed again for work.
