PUPILS, teachers and parents are celebrating after their school was praised by inspectors.

Loders Primary School has been graded as ‘good’ in all areas in a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) inspection.

The inspector said classrooms were a place ‘every pupil has the best atmosphere for learning’ and the school is ‘ambitious for its pupils’.

The report states: ‘This drive

to be the best that you can be

is felt by the pupils’ and highlights how the curriculum is

well-planned, broad and

exciting, helping to deliver the school’s strong academic

results.

It notes: ‘Teaching results in high levels of pupil enjoyment and engagement’ and recognises how the vision is adopted throughout the school and

underpins the quality of learning.

Governors were identified as working ‘with a strong sense of purpose’ and, according to the report, they have been ‘significantly’ supported by the leaders of the Acorn Multi Academy Trust since the school joined.

Loders headteacher, Peter Beare, is pleased with the outcome.

“Staff at Loders and within the wider Acorn MAT work well as a team and are genuinely committed to giving the children here the very best,” he said. “So this is a real encouragement to all of us”.

One of the first church school SIAMS inspections to be conducted under a new inspection framework, the report continues

also states: “Parents are overwhelmingly complementary and appreciative of the safe, nurturing environment the school provides.

“They say they feel welcome and included in their children’s education and that the school deals with issues, however small, quickly and efficiently.

“This includes the school

giving them substantial time when they face vulnerable situations.”
