CHILDREN can learn valuable skills for life this half term.

They are invited to enrol as Junior Safety Inspectors at SafeWise Weymouth in a scheme that will help them to stay safe and build confidence.

The fun and interactive family tours are back by popular demand at the charity’s learning village next to Weymouth Fire Station on Radipole Lane.

The self-guided tour involves solving clues whilst exploring SafeWise’s real-life learning village which features a full size road network, streetscape and fire safety scenarios.

The event takes place on 19 and 20 February with advance booking online required at www.safewise.org/events

SafeWise Weymouth manager Ben Heath said: “Our Junior Safety Inspector tours at SafeWise Weymouth are a great way for families to spend quality time together which is both fun and rewarding.

“We’re delighted to be able to bring the tours back for February Half Term and look forward to welcoming lots of local families to explore our learning village.”

The Junior Safety Inspector tour costs £3 (plus small booking fee) per person and is designed for children aged five-11 years old and their families.

Free parking is available at SafeWise Weymouth, with refreshments also on offer to buy from Cafe SafeWise at the centre.

SafeWise celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018 and has welcomed some 250,000 school children to its learning villages Weymouth and Bournemouth in that time.
