Gritters will be out tonight as temperatures are set to plunge again.

After a balmy – if windy – weekend, it’s starting to feel undeniably like spring is in the air. But we’re not out of winter yet and there’s some cold spells yet to come.

Dorset County Council has confirmed they will be out gritting at 6pm tonight in Zone 2, which covers most of rural West Dorset, but not the coastal areas, as well as parts of Purbeck and north Dorset.

Temperatures in and around Dorchester could plunge to two degrees Celsius today. The good news is the cold temperatures shouldn’t last long, with the Met Office forecasting that the rest of the week will be between six and 10 degrees, with some sunshine promised on Thursday and Friday.
