A NOVELIST whose best-selling book was turned into a film is coming to give a talk at Bridport Arts Centre.

SJ Watson will talk about Before I Go To Sleep, which was turned into a movie starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth, at the venue on Thursday, February 21 at 7pm.

A woman wakes up every day, remembering nothing as a result of a traumatic accident in her past. One day, new terrifying truths emerge that force her to question everyone around her.

After the film there will be a rare opportunity for author of the book of the film to talk about how he came up with the story, and an opportunity for the audience to ask any questions.

S J Watson’s first novel, Before I Go To Sleep, is a phenomenal international success. A bestseller around the world, it won The Crime Writers’ Association Award for Best Debut Novel and The Galaxy National Book Award for Crime Thriller of the Year. The film of the book, starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong, and directed by Rowan Joffe, was released in September 2014.

His next book, Second Life, was published in 2015 and was a critical and commercial success.
