Two Lyme Regis brothers have managed to raise more than £400 in sponsorship for the Lyme Lunge.
Eleven-year-old Jacob Denning and 15-year-old Joshua Denning took part in the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis’ annual event on New Year’s Day, which this year was raising money for Dorset County Hospital’s Cancer Appeal.
A spokesperson for the Rotary Club of Lyme Regis, said: “The Rotary Club is extremely grateful for their contribution.
“The club would appreciate receiving any more sponsor money still outstanding, especially from the business community who all did so well on the day.”
Joshua has been taking part in the Lyme Lunge for around eight years, with Jacob entering for the first time this year, and they have raised around £900 over the past three years.
Joshua has become a well-known fundraiser in the town and does a lot of collecting for local events, such as lifeboat week and the carnival and he managed to raise £3,045 last year.
Annette, Joshua and Jacob’s mum, said: “I am so proud of my boys.
“The amount they both do for the community is amazing.”
