Do you know someone who goes above and beyond in supporting people in care?

Then nominate them for the Dorset Echo Care Awards!

One of the 10 award categories is Special Recognition and the judges are looking at how they have positively benefited individuals, services and/or the care sector generally and how they embody the qualities we aspire to in the delivery of care. Or maybe they have made a long-term contribution to care.

This category is sponsored by Apex Prime Care.

Apex Prime Care is a family run business that has been providing quality home care across Dorset and the South Coast for more than10 years. Of their 18 locations across the south coast they have three in Dorset; Poundbury, Blandford, and Bournemouth and Poole.

A spokesman said: "We offer a range of services to our clients, from daily personal care to light domestic duties. We work closely with local councils to make sure clients are getting the best package of care available. We also provide regular free training to ensure our staff are fully equipped and prepared to provide a high quality of care for our clients.

As well as providing care out in the community, we are also based in a number of Extra Care housing schemes throughout Dorset, including Melrose Court in Poundbury where we are the lead provider of care for the residents.

As a family run business, we understand the importance of caring for your loved ones. We are proud to be able to provide a peace of mind for the family members of our clients, that we are can be there when they can’t.

We love to get involved in the local Dorset community, we have partnered with Weldmar Hospice and our staff regularly volunteer at their fundraising events. We are very pleased to be sponsoring the Special Recognition award this year.

Three finalists and their guest in each category will be invited to the Care Awards ceremony at Weymouth College on Thursday, March 14 where the winners will be announced.

The winners of each category will receive a trophy and all finalists will receive a day ticket to Weymouth Sea Life. Winners will also be featured in the category winners' coverage in the Dorset Echo and online at dorsetecho.co.uk.
