Flooding is causing hazardous driving conditions - the Met office has issued a yellow weather warning for Dorset.
Flooding is affecting travel from Dorchester to Bere Regis. Drivers are being warned to take care.
A section of road on the A31 near the A35 and Shell roundabout is flooded, causing the road to be partially blocked in both directions.
Reports suggest motorists are being forced to drive in the middle of the carriageway.
Floods are causing heavy congestion on the A35 in both directions from B3150 Stinsford Hill (Stinsford Roundabout, Stinsford) to A354 (Puddletown).
Drivers are warned to approach with care.
