A 25-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a child was hit by a car.
Police were called just after 6pm on Monday (December 10) to a report of a collision involving a black Mercedes A-class car and an 11-year-old boy in Dorchester Road, Maiden Newton.
The air ambulance is believed to have attended however, the boy was taken to Dorset County Hospital by land ambulance.
He is reported to have sustained minor injuries.
A 25-year-old woman from the Beaminster area was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
She has been released under investigation while police continue their enquiries.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "An investigation into the collision remains ongoing."
