Residents and traders are reminded of public consultation events this week which will give them an opportunity to comment on the development of a Dorchester town centre master plan.

The master plan aims to take a comprehensive approach to the future of the town centre.

It will address issues such as public realm and signage; parking; environmental impacts; accessibility; key development sites; Brewery Square illustration.

Visit the district council offices at South Walks House, Dorchester at any time to view the work in progress on the following dates:

Thursday, November 15, 6pm to 9pm (presentations by Feria Urbanism at 6.30pm and 8pm)

Friday, November 16, 10am to 4pm (presentations at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm)

Saturday, November 17, 10am to 1pm (presentations at 10.30am and 12pm)

Cllr Anthony Alford, leader of West Dorset District Council, said: “We are delighted to invite members of the public to the consultations on the master plan. The aim of these events is to get a picture of the public’s aspirations for the future of Dorchester town centre. Whilst decisions about some sites have already been made by members of West Dorset District Council, this consultation will give the public the opportunity to see what is coming up in the short term and also what possible ideas could be considered for the longer term.”

If you are unable to make the events – or wish to submit comments at a later stage – the council is developing a digital survey.
