A refund or day ticket to Camp Bestival 2019 has been offered to people affected by the cancellation of the last day of this year's festival.

All events planned for the final day of the family-friendly festival at Lulworth Castle were called off due to heavy rain and high winds.

Sunday 2018 ticket holders can now apply for a complimentary Camp Bestival 2019 day ticket for the Friday, Saturday or Sunday, or a face value refund.

The future of Camp Bestival 2019 was in doubt after it was forced into administration by creditors in September. However in October, festival founders Rob and Josie Da Bank announced they were 'back in control' after reaching a deal with Live Nation Gaiety and SJM.

Creditors Richmond Group bought the festival and its assets for £1.1m last month.

In a statement posted to the Camp Bestival website, Rob and Josie Da Banks explained: "The last three months have been extremely testing and difficult for us with matters out of our hands, we fully appreciate just how frustrating and long this process has been for you all too..."

"The nature of the last few months means that the insurance money that was available to refund 2018 ticketholders, and money from 2019 ticket sales, was entirely lost in the administration. This is unfair to you, our fans. "The new owners, LN-Gaiety and SJM, understand how unfair this feels and as a result have agreed to fund discounts and refunds for 2018 ticket holders, and will honour all existing 2019 tickets."

Festival-goers will be able to choose which day they want to attend after the line-up for the 2019 event, which will take place from July 25 to 28, has been announced.

2018 weekend ticket holders are entitled to a 33 per cent discount on 2019 tickets.
