Police are issuing a warning after an elderly lady had her purse stolen while shopping.
Between 12.30pm and 13.30pm on Tuesday (November 6) an 84-year-old woman had her purse stolen from her handbag as she went about her shopping in Waitrose.
The handbag was being worn over her shoulder at the time.
A spokesman for Bridport Police said: "We would recommend that when carrying your handbag that it is carried to the front of you with the clasp facing inwards making it difficult for anyone to tamper with.
"Where possible put house keys in a pocket should you have anything in the bag that would provide the thief with a home address and never carry PIN numbers with any cards."
