Flood warnings are in place along the west Dorset coast this morning.

This warning is in place for West Bay harbour and flooding to nearby properties is likely.

Conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide at 7am.

Large waves and spray are likely, so take care near coastal paths and promenades. This may cause localised standing water on roads between Park Dean Campsite and West Bay Road.

Environment Agency staff say they have checked defences in the area and are continuing to monitor the situation closely.

The tidal gates at the harbour will be closed and will remain closed during high tide times.

The forecast wind direction is south south easterly and the forecast wind strength is Force 7.

A warning is also in place at Lyme Regis harbour and it will remain until around 8am.

The forecast wind strength is Force 6.
