WE'VE got some more famous faces to spot this week who came our way to film a number of missed (and not-so-missed) programmes.

First up is former news reader Angela Rippon, who spent a day at Bridport Museum in September 1986 visiting as part of BBC West's Day Out series. She was at the museum to gain an insight to the town's rope and net industry.

Angela met 84-year-old Howard Woodward, who worked for many years in the town's staple trade and is pictured at the rope maker's jack, a winding device.

Angela stayed at the Manor Hotel in West Bexington and also filmed at Parnham House, Abbotsbury Swannery, Moores Biscuit Factory at Morcombelake, near Bridport, and Charmouth's Heritage Coast Centre.

Bridport was again in the spotlight when Central Television's Getting On programme filmed the town's signwriting octogenarian George Biles. This was a TV programme about elderly people, aimed at those aged in their 60s and above. The crew can be seen here in our picture filming at the Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock in March 1987. They braved appalling weather to take shots of Mr Biles, who specialised in pub signs.

Palmer's Brewery was also featured and their horsedrawn dray, decorated by Mr Biles, was filmed trotting through Burton. Tireless George had pursued his career since he was a 14-year-old apprentice.

Also of interest is this photo of former children's TV presenter Jenny Powell, taken in 1987 when she came to visit the Dinosaur Museum in Dorchester and help it celebrate its birthday.

And in timely manner for Halloween, we bring you this picture of TV presenter David Young in Beaminster filming a programme on the ghost of 12-year-old John Daniels.
