WE bring you more familiar faces snapped by our photographer filming television programmes in this area.

Many of you will be familiar with actor Ciaran Hinds, who in 1994, filmed a scene at the Cobb in Lyme Regis for a BBC adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion.

Hinds went on to become a big star of the silver screen, starring as Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and notable roles in other films including The Woman in Black, In Bruges, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life and even a voice role in Frozen!

We also turn our attention to TV's favourite upper crust actor Nigel Havers, who filmed a drama we can't identify in this area in 1991 Do get in touch if you know what it was!

A youthful-looking Chris Packham, local to this area as a New Forest resident, filmed the nature series Birdwatch in Dorset in January 1996.

Children's TV classic Playdays paid a visit to Abbotsbury in June 1995 with what looks like a bit of a tribute to the nearby swannery. In the photo is one of the characters Peggy Patch but notably missing is the rather irritating but informative Why Bird.

Speaking of birds and swans, the BBC Holiday programme touched upon the delights of rural Dorset when an edition of the programme was filmed at Abbotsbury Swannery in 1992. The director and cameraman took the opportunity to film some holidaymakers enjoying the sight of the swan herd.

TV quiz master Bob Holness, a favourite on Blockbuster was in serious mode conducting an interview in 1992, while Village Praise proved that you can work with children and animals for filming at Powerstock Village School's Easter play in 1993.
