This week for Looking Back we will be celebrating 70 years of the NHS.
The National Health Service (NHS) turned 70 on July, 5, and the country celebrated the achievements of one of the nation's most loved institutions.
In its lifetime, the service has transformed the health of the nation, delivering huge medical advances, eradicating diseases such as diphtheria and polio.
With more than 1.5 million staff, the NHS is the UK's largest employer, and the fifth largest worldwide.
Throughout its history, the NHS has helped every single person more than once with various different ailments.
Many happy returns to our NHS, that has served the country, through its doctors, nurses, services, support and more.
