Police searching for a man who went missing from Worth Matravers near Swanage are pleased to say he has been found safe and well.

Richard Norman, 30, left his home address in Winspit Road at around 2.40pm today, Wednesday. His disappearance sparked a search involving police and coastguards.

He was located in the West Bay area of Bridport.

Dorset Police said: "We would like to thank everyone who helped to share our appeal."

The force said earlier that Mr Norman suffers from dyspraxia which is apparent when he walks.

Speaking earlier this evening before Mr Norman was found, Chief Inspector Rob Chalkley, of Dorset Police, said: “We are very concerned for Richard as we know he has been upset recently. Officers have been searching the Worth Matravers and surrounding areas for Richard but he has not been found. We are grateful to the coastguard and NPAS helicopter for assisting with our search.

“While Richard suffers from dyspraxia he is still able to travel some distance and I would urge anyone who has seen him or a man matching the description given to please contact Dorset Police."
