A WEST Dorset housebuilding company has been recognised with three awards from a national trade body.

CG Fry and Son, who were established in Litton Cheney, has scooped prizes in the first round of the National Housebuilding Council's (NHBC) pride in the job awards. The firm was recognised for three of the housing developments it is involved in constructing.

Steve Walker, CG Fry's site manager at Poundbury in Dorchester, Brendan Leech, site manager at Nansledan, Newquay and Nathan Pyett at Grey's Field, Chickerell, have been hand-picked for their high standards on site.

Recognised within the house building industry as the highest accolade a site manager can receive, the Pride in the Job Awards have seen the CG Fry and Son site managers selected from a total of 16,000 across the UK.

The three winners will now go on to compete for the seal of excellence and South West regional winner titles with other site managers across the South West. The winners will be announced in September.

Each site manager is assessed across 44 areas of their job, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the building process and the quality controls they have put in place.

Kevin Murch, construction director for CG Fry and Son is pleased the firm has been recognised with the three accolades.

He said: “We are extremely pleased that our site managers are being recognised for the quality of work being produced on their sites.

“Winning three NHBC quality awards has again confirmed as a company we are achieving our main aim in delivering quality homes to our purchasers.”

The supreme award winners announced at a gala ceremony in January 2018.

Neil Jefferson, NHBC managing director, said: "Congratulations to all the 2017 quality award winners - the strength of this year’s entries coupled with the judges’ long and hard deliberations over selecting around 450 winners from more than 16,000 site managers should give great pride to them all and their teams.

"Every year, the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards give us the chance to celebrate the efforts site managers go to promoting continuous improvement in the quality of new homes, year on year, for homeowners and their families to enjoy."
