EVERY year Bridport's Local Food Group gives out awards for excellence in the food industry - either for the quality of their front of house staff or their food service.
The awards are in place to recognise individuals who consistently demonstrate service standards and a true understanding of their trade. Nominations are requested from the general public.
Kathy Dare who initiated and managed the awards, said: “This is the second year that we have run these awards and the response from the public has been tremendous.
"More than 1200 nominations were received covering the five categories – food & drink retail, take-aways, Pubs, cafes and restaurants.
"Many thanks to everyone who took the time to make a nomination and the Bridport TIC for collecting the votes. Every individual that has been nominated and the business that employs them should be very proud.”
The winner and runner up is the individual within each category who receives the most nominations from the public. The winner of receives a plaque and £50 and the runner up a plaque and £25. A team award is given to the team receiving the most nominations.
