A NEW daytime session is being offered at the InSparation Youth Café in Church Street, Lyme Regis.

It is aimed at helping young people who are either out of work and education or are unsure where their future lies.

The session is being run by the County Youth Service in conjunction with Connexions and is set in a relaxed atmosphere where the sessions revolve around the young people taking part.

The aims of the project are to promote personal development, self confidence, life skills and a general sense of wellbeing as well as giving practical help on making decisions.

"We are very pleased to be able to offer this sort of provision in Lyme," said West Dorset's senior youth worker, Arthur Woodgate.

"It is part of a co- ordinated approach towards issues of support, training and employment that we are initiating across the area.

"We have an excellent team delivering this work in Lyme, with Harry Warren and Justine Davie, both leaders of outstanding quality."

The session runs from 11am to 3pm on Thursdays with the mornings being more informal, when any young person can drop in for advice about jobs, training, education or life in general followed by a free lunch - and a more structured activity in the afternoon, which could range from making a video CV to going bowling.
