MEMBERS held a coffee morning on Thursday, October 30 and decided to get ahead with its celebrations for the centenary of the Women’s Institute movement next year by planting a tree in the grounds of Blackdown village hall.
Two of the longest serving members of Blackdown WI, Phyllis Smith and Vida Snell, ceremoniously planted the tree while local children planted daffodil bulbs around the base.
