YOUNG people from the Lyme Regis Skate Forum will cover the equivalent distance to London on wheels to raise funds for the proposed skatepark.
The forum is holding a sponsored skate at The Hub on Saturday, May 25 from 11am to 5pm.
Their aim is to skate, scooter and BMX a combined 139 miles by doing laps of West Dorset District Council’s portable skatepark, which will be in the upstairs hall of The Hub.
This will mean doing more than 5,000 laps of the hall.
The forum is inviting local skaters and scooter users to join in, even if it is just a few laps, to help them reach their goal.
Anyone interested in getting sponsored can pick up forms from The Hub during any session or LymeNet anytime before the event.
All the money raised will go towards the proposed Lyme Regis Skatepark.
Anyone wishing to sponsor the young people will find forms at LymeNet and at various outlets around town.
