A comedian whose star is on the rise is calling into Lyme Regis.

Following on from yet another successful Edinburgh Festival run (and earning a place in the British Comedy Guide’s Best Reviewed Shows), Suzi Ruffell is taking her new show – Dance Like Everyone’s Watching – on tour around the UK.

Suzi has made a name for herself by turning tragedy and anxiety into big laughs. Now, all of a sudden, she is actually happy. This show answers the question: are all stand-ups at their best when they are miserable? Fingers crossed no!

There’s a mix of storytelling, observations, a dash of social politics and a lovely routine about a smear test. This show has everything.

The last couple of years have been massive for Suzi, with a sell-out UK tour and heaps of TV appearances (i.e Live at the Apollo and Mock The Week), and she’s even learnt how to make the perfect lemon cake. She’s also a regular on Radio 4’s The News Quiz and The Now Show, and co-hosts podcast Like Minded Friends with chum and fellow stand-up Tom Allen. Other TV credits include Roast Battle, Ultimate Worrier, Hypothetical, Stand Up Central, 8 Out of 10 Cats, and Suzi Ruffell Live From The Comedy Store. In 2018, Suzi turned her hand to acting with a starring role in Foreign, a short film directed by Mark Pinkosh.

Suzi Ruffell’s star is certainly on the rise, with her being recently named as the Chortle Best Club Act 2019 – to add to a nomination for Best Breakthrough Act at The Chortle Awards in 2017.

In 2018 Suzi toured Australia, as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow. In early 2019 she was back on the road, filming Comedy Central’s new show Comedy Bus while also touring her own show Nocturnal to sell-out audiences. TV-wise, she has recently featured in Harry Hill’s Clubnite (Channel 4), There’s Something About Movies (Sky One) and Richard Osman’s House of Games (BBC2).
