JOIN Helen Wood on her quest to become the National Trust’s biggest super-fan!

In celebration of the National Trust's 125th Birthday, Helen Wood’s tale of her daring one-woman quest to visit every National Trust property and become a certified super-fan comes to Dorchester’s Corn Exchange on Wednesday, January 29 at 8pm.

The National Trust Fan Club is packed to the brim with Goretex, cream teas, and a loyal canine assistant – when NT rules allow, comedian Helen Wood takes the audience on a whirlwind tour of National Trust properties and outdoor spaces around Britain (including Dorset's own Hardy's Cottage and Lawrence of Arabia's Cloud Hill). Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, she uses stories, historical anecdotes, poetry, sketches, selfies and scones to bring to become the NT’s biggest super-fan.

Dorchester Arts Artistic Director Mark Tattersall said “Comedian Helen Wood has a lot in common with Victoria Wood in that she makes pin-sharp observations on everyday characters. This show is sure to impress both National Trust members and non-members alike.”

Writer and performer Helen Wood loves playing larger than life comic characters. Her favourites have been Mrs Bennett in Pride and Prejudice, Mrs Sparsit in Hard Times and Captain Hook, the latter of which she had to learn to stage fight and say “ooh arr” a lot.
