AN ACCLAIMED theatre company is returning to Dorset with a production of a brand-new fairytale adventure.

It comes to Broadmayne Village Hall near Dorchester on Friday, January 31.

Gonzo Moose will present Once Upon A Time, a show bursting with comedy, jokes and magical illusion. The performance will visit two rural communities through Artsreach, Dorset's touring arts charity.

The story begins on a dark and snowy night, as brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm are about to publish the final volume of what will become the greatest ever collection of fairytales. Yet on the eve of their greatest triumph, a shadowy figure from their past lets it be known that he intends to collect an old debt.

Now, their sister Lotte must venture deep into the Fairytale Kingdom and confront a great evil in order to save her beloved older brothers.

Founded by artistic director Mark Dawson and Paschale Straiton, Gonzo Moose has been forging its own unique brand of theatre since 2000. Inspired by the slapstick greats, the company combine visual comedy, dramatic storytelling and physical theatre with spoof, mash-ups and general silliness.

Once Upon A Time will see three talented actors switch wildly between myriad roles, creating a shocking and frightening performance as the characters discover the malevolence which lurks in the woods.

The show will be performed in Broadmayne Village Hall on Friday, January 31, and in Stalbridge Village Hall on Saturday, February 1. Both performances start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults, £6 for under-18s or £25 for a family of four. To book, visit www.artsreach.co.uk or contact the venues directly.
