Families in Dorset can see the incredible story of The Little Prince retold with dance, theatre, humour and spoken word.

The tale of a pilot stranded in the desert can be seen in Cerne Abbas on Saturday, January 25 at 2:30pm.

It will be performed by Luca Silvestrini’s Protein with Artsreach.

Follow the Little Prince as he leaves behind his own tiny asteroid and journeys through the universe, coming face to face with the baffling world of grown-ups! Upon landing on planet Earth, the Little Prince is welcomed by a mysterious snake and a truly wise and friendly fox, before encountering a lone pilot. Together they discover the power and beauty of friendship and the complexity of love. Join award winning dance-theatre company Protein for a fun and entertaining performance suitable for families and children, young and old.

Based on the world-famous story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince is brought to life using Protein’s award-winning mix of dance, humour and spoken word, inviting us to look at the world through one’s heart and to reconnect with our inner child.

Formed in 1997, Protein is one of the most distinctive voices in British dance theatre. Artistic director Luca Silvestrini uses a blend of original choreography, humour and music to create witty shows that reflect the absurdity in everyday situations and experiences. About the Little Prince, Luca Silvestrini said, “This is the first time I have turned a well-known book into a show, and I am proud to have chosen such a timeless and insightful parable to create a theatrical experience enjoyed by both children and grown-ups. As our planet and lives are increasingly under threat, I believe ‘The Little Prince’ is a much needed and life affirming story for everyone.”
