OSMINGTON Music worked with local fundraising group Phoenix Fundraisers for a sell-out gig with Phil Beer.
The Osmington Village Hall gig with folk superstar Phil, from Show of Hands fame, also featured a barbecue and a guest appearance from singer songwriter Odette Michel.
It raised £500 for Ups & Downs SW, which supports children with Downs Syndrome and their families.
Phoenix treasurer Vic White, who helped to man the very busy BBQ, said "We are all absolutely delighted with the amount of money we raised. It was worth the hard work and it was a great gig too!"
Osmington Music is a non-profit making organisation and is supporting the restoration of the thatched bus-shelter, a war memorial recently listed Grade 2, on the south side of the main road in the village of Osmington. It was built by Harry and Ethel Parry-Jones in memory of their son, David, a lieutenant in the 1st Battalion of The Rifle Brigade who died aged just 20 on 3 August 1944 during the Battle of Normandy.
