CHRISTMAS wouldn’t be the same without a visit from the man himself – Santa Claus.

He'll be making special appearances at various venues in Dorset over the Christmas period. Here's what's happening near you:

  • Santa’s Grotto at Dobbies Garden Centre in Galton, near Owermoigne, Dorchester, is officially open.

One of the most exciting experiences of the festive period, the grotto is open until Christmas Eve.

Families are invited to explore the enchanting setting of Santa’s Workshop, meet Santa himself and receive a special present in time for Christmas Day.

As well as Santa’s Grotto, Dobbies has a number of festive experiences for the whole family to enjoy, including a special breakfast or tea with Santa and a Christmas afternoon tea.

Tickets for Santa’s Grotto are selling out fast, so Dobbies is urging people to book soon to avoid disappointment.

To book tickets, visit the garden centre’s website.

Watch the man himself on his sleigh as he does his rounds on Saturday, December 14, between 12 - 2pm.

There will be photo opportunities and gifts for children.

Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventure Park will be visited by Santa on various dates throughout December, when you will be guided through the festive forest by a jolly elf to meet him in his enchanting Christmas cabin.

He will meet children on December 6 and 8 and then daily from December 13- 24.

Every child meeting Father Christmas will receive a SEA LIFE gift.

For more information and tickets, visit Sea Life’s website.

The Walled Garden in Moreton will welcome Father Christmas and his elves on Saturday, December 14, and Saturday, December 21, between 10am-3pm.

Santa will have a gift for every child who visits, and you can have your picture taken with him.

You can also take part in Christmas crafts sessions with Santa’s elves and explore the gardens for a Frozen-themed garden trail, all included in the price of your ticket.

There will be festive drinks and snacks for mums and dads too.

Tickets are available from Eventbrite today.
