FOLLOWING a sell-out tour last autumn, up-and-coming theatre company Gracefool Collective returns to Dorchester and Weymouth with brand new production This Is Not A Wedding.

It comes to the Bay Theatre, Weymouth College, on Thursday, November 28 at 7.30pm and Dorchester Corn Exchange on Friday, November 29 at 7.30pm.

This radical and unpredictable reimagining of some of society's most recognisable ceremonies invites audiences to question the rigidity of life's milestones. The story follows four defiant brides as they attempt to maintain their dignity while wading through a minefield of tradition, conformity and expectation.

Artistic director of Dorchester Arts, Mark Tattersall, said: "Gracefool blew us away last autumn with This Really Is Too Much, and we couldn't wait to have them back. This Is Not A Wedding sees the four actors use their signature concoction of wildly entertaining dance theatre as they attempt to come to terms with coming of age in a high-pressure, low-tolerance, success-driven society."

Gracefool Collective was created in 2013 by four young female theatre makers, Kate Cox, Sofia Edstrand, Rachel Fullegar and Rebecca Holmberg. Their work tackles serious issues with humour and playfulness while incorporating a mix of music, comedy and dance.

Gracefool are based in Leeds but one of the stars of the show is Little Cheney born, Weymouth-schooled Rachel Fullegar. The family moved to Weymouth when she was little and Rachel attended Chickerell Primary School and then Budmouth College in the town, studying dance at GCSE and A-level to win a place at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. Recently she returned to give the prize-giving speech at Budmouth's award evening - an honour normally reserved for MP’s and senior councillors.

Rachel started dancing at Bernard Gale's School of Dance in Bridport, then the Lyric School of Dance. As a child she was a regular performer in the long running Bridport Pantomime Players panto at The Lyric and Electric Palace. Rachel is a former member of Dorset Youth Dance Company (then called Portrait) run by Activate Performing Arts and returns to Activate whenever she can to offer support.
