THE sequel to 2001's smash hit, Menopause the Musical, will take to the stage at Weymouth Pavilion on Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Cruising Through Menopause is set five years ahead of the original show, catching up with the same four characters and their tales of love, life and loss.

Returning cast members include Cheryl Fergison, a talented musician who is best known for her role as Heather Trott in Eastenders. Cheryl has also starred in the West End production of Man of the Moment, as well as taking television roles in Benidorm, Little Britain and The IT Crowd.

Cheryl is joined by fellow returning cast member Rebecca Wheatley, known for her role as receptionist Amy Howard on Casualty. Her West End credits include Fame and Bad Girls The Musical, and Rebecca is also a regular on Channel 5's The Wright Stuff, as well as appearing on ITV's Loose Women.

The pair will be joined by newcomers including Nicole Barber-Lane, who made her screen debut at an early age before studying performance arts at university and securing her role as series regular Myra McQueen in Hollyoaks. Nicole's other television appearances include Bodies, Emmerdale, and The Cops.

Nicki French, known for her number one single Total Eclipse of the Heart, will also be joining the all-star cast. In 2000, Nicki represented the UK in Eurovision and continues to perform solo or with her band, having released two successful albums since 2015.

Written by Jeanie Linders, the original Menopause the Musical was debuted in Orlando, Florida, and followed four women as they shopped for lingerie and sung about chocolate cravings, hot flushes and sexual predicaments. Aiming to lift the lid on the often taboo rite of passage, the show has been seen by more than 12 million people across the world.

Cruising Through Menopause takes a hilarious and heartfelt look at the joys of friendship and ageing, featuring parody songs from the baby boom era.

The performance at Weymouth Pavilion begins at 7.30pm and is suitable for audiences aged 16 and above. Tickets are £32, available from the pavilion website or by contacting the box office.
