A festive celebration of story, music and song can be enjoyed this winter.

Bridport Story Café returns to the Lyric Theatre in Barrack Street, Bridport, on Sunday, December 8 at 7.30pm.

This time the cafe is open for a Winter Fest of Story and Song.

Three storytellers and two musicians will come together at the beginning of winter for this festive celebration. They have all become warmly welcomed performers at the story café and some years ago were part of a joyful summer outdoor event that went on into the night around the fire.

Jane Flood, Martin Maudsley and Rebecca Smart bring their mythical skills and infectious delight in the emotional power and the playfulness of words and story. Fiona Barrow and Martin Solomon demonstrate their remarkable musical talents and dexterity in echoing and enhancing the storytelling.

The evening will be a lively celebration of eight years of the Story Café in Bridport and a year since its move to the Lyric Theatre. There will be snack food available in addition to the paying bar.

The evening is suitable for adults and older children. Tickets are £10 available on the door and in advance from the Tourist Information Centre online and 01308 424901. Also from the BearKat café at the Lyric. Doors and bar will be open from 7pm for a prompt start.
