THREE monstrously musical brothers from Flanders in Belgium are embarking on a thirty-date European tour this winter that stops in Sydling St Nicholas near Dorchester.

Trio Dhoore’s ‘rooted folk music’ breathes life, freedom and energy into a repertoire of traditional Flemish tunes (and the occasional song) and their own material. Creating an immersive soundscape where folky grooves, melancholy melodies and intuitive interplay combine to unique effect, their thrillingly modern approach is both engaging in style and technically outstanding in execution.

Growing up in a family where making music was encouraged and folk music was never far away Ward, Hartwin and Koen started playing their first traditional tunes together around the kitchen table at the age of ten, and so the seed was planted.

Performing on electro-acoustic hurdy-gurdy, diatonic accordion, acoustic guitar and mandolin, Koen, Hartwin and Ward have honed their pure acoustic sound and refreshing arrangements, with performances at venues and festivals across Europe, and the release of four acclaimed albums to date.

Trio Dhoore will also visit Switzerland, Germany, Austria Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Scotland and England on the tour, while the three stops in Dorset come courtesy of Artsreach.
