JOIN international veteran jazz singer and pianist Terri Quaye for a mellow selection of music.
The Terri Quaye Trio will play Bridport Arts Centre on Friday, October 11 at 8pm.
Terri promises a programme of New York style jazz classics and her own compositions. Terri has performed and recorded with some of the greats of American jazz, including Archie Shepp, Billy Higgins, Johnny Griffin and Betty Carter.
She is currently living in Bridport and recently performed at the Beaminster Arts Festival. She will be performing on the arts centre’s superb Yamaha grand piano, accompanied by Ben Taylor on double bass and Jim Newton on drums. Bassist Ben Taylor has worked with many outstanding musicians on the UK jazz scene including Gilad Atzmon, Liane Carroll and Tina May. In addition to his musical work, he is a highly skilled restorer and repairer of stringed instruments.
Terri’s Bridport programme will include the mellow swing of jazz favourites such as East of the Sun andBody and Soul, the lilting bossa nova of Wave, and Duke Ellington’s elegant ballad Sophisticated Lady.
