TWO singer-songwriters from Britain and America will unite for a performance at Sladers Jazz Club in West Bay on Saturday, October 19.

British-born Kirsty McGee will play with Illinois musician, Ben Bedford.

Since entering the music scene 15 years ago, Kirsty has produced seven albums and mixes jazz with folk, gospel and Americana influences. She describes her genre as hobopop - music of no fixed abode - and formed her ever-changing band The Hobopop Collective in 2007. In 2013, Kirsty's song, Sandman, was featured on Danny Boyle's film Trance, winning critical acclaim both in its original form and when covered by lead actress Rosario Dawson.

2019 sees the release of her eighth studio album and her first UK tour in several years.

Ben released his debut album, Lincoln's Man,12 years ago, and has since played for audiences all over the US, performing at notable venues including The Bluebird Café in Nashville, Folkstage in Chicago and Club Passim in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has also headlined concerts in a variety of European cities, including London, Brussels and Stockholm, and once toured Canada. Ben's music has received extensive airplay on folk and roots radio stations, and he has released five studio albums. His most recent work, The Hermit's Spyglass, came out in 2018.
