FROM the producers of the Banff Film Festival tour comes a collection of canine-inspired short films about dogs and their people. Following its sell-out success internationally, the Top Dog Film Festival is coming to the UK for the first time featuring dogs from all walks of life on the big screen.

A tour spokesman said: “Meet four-legged heroes, unbreakable bonds and canine companions that enrich the lives of all those they encounter.

“This carefully curated programme of canine-themed films is comprised of the most inspirational and entertaining stories about dogs and their human companions, from independent films makers around the globe.”

There will be a screening at Lighthouse Poole on Thursday, October 3 at 7.30pm. For more details, see topdogfilmfestival.co.uk

n And there’s still time to buy tickets for the Ocean Film Festival World Tour, another production put together by the same team behind the Banff Film Festival.

The UK tour will be visiting several Dorset theatres with a new collection of ocean-themed films. “From surfers to fisherman, and marine scientists to artists, these films feature fascinating characters who have dedicated their lives to the sea’s salt spray,” says tour director Nell Teasdale.

“This is your chance to dip your toes into the wonders of the big blue from the comfort of a cinema seat.”

The tour will visit Tivoli Theatre on September 18 followed by the Regent Centre on October 2 and 17, and Lighthouse, Poole on October 18. For more details, visit oceanfilmfestival.co.uk
