AN award-winning folk duo are returning to their hometown for a very special show on Saturday, September 14.

Ninebarrow will appear at Lighthouse, Poole's Centre for the Arts, for their first performance with a full five-piece band.

Mainstays Jon Whitley and Jay LaBouchardiere will not only be joined by cellist and long-term collaborator, Lee MacKenzie, but also the extraordinary talents of John Parker on double bass and Evan Carson on percussion. The performance will feature an array of brand new songs and unique reworkings of some old folk favourites.

A former teacher and GP, Jon and Jay combine vocal harmonies and melodies to create songs inspired by the landscape and history of the British Isles. More than just singers and musicians, Ninebarrow are passionate about the stories behind their songs, and incorporate elements of history, storytelling and folklore into their performances.

Ninebarrow were nominated in the Best Emerging Artist category at the BBC2 Folk Awards in 2017, and their latest album, The Waters and the Wild, reached number two in the Amazon Folk Chart last year.

The show will begin at 8pm and adult tickets cost £17.75.
