DRESS for a mess and come along to a puppet-making workshop this summer.

Bridport's Lyric Theatre is running four fantastic sessions throughout August, with resident prop-maker extraordinaire Holly Miller guiding your puppet creation.

On Tuesday, August 13, get your brain into gear as you design and build your very own robot, as big or small as you wish. On Thursday 15, make your own pop-up puppet characters, or create a critter on Tuesday 20, deciding whether your bug will have pointy teeth, lots of eyes, several legs, spikes or scales.

Finish your creative journey by making fancy dress puppets on Thursday 22: create a puppet head, then design and make interchangeable costumes for your character to wear.

All materials needed to create your masterpieces will be provided, and at the end of the day your creation can accompany you home.

The workshops are open to anybody over the age of eight, and cost £22 per person per session. Bring a packed lunch and arrive ready to go at 10am. All workshops finish at 2pm.

Places are limited and must be booked in advance. Visit the Bridport Tourist Information Centre, call 01308 424901 or book online at www.bridportandwestbay.co.uk/tickets.
