THE punk poet who shot to fame in the 1970s is bringing his unmissable tour to Weymouth this autumn.

Dr John Cooper Clarke will host an intimate evening of poetry and discussion at the pavilion on September 30.

An English performance poet, John's career has spanned cultures, audiences, art forms and continents, culminating in the release of his 2018 anthology, Luckiest Guy Alive. His 2019 worldwide tour shares the same name and presents a mix of classic verse and exclusive new material, plus a good helping of gags, riffs and chats.

John's influence remains visible in today's pop culture, with his work recently being featured in the music of world-renowned stars. The Arctic Monkeys incorporated one of the poet's best loved poems, I Wanna Be Yours, into their critically acclaimed album, AM. John's poetry is also included on national curriculum syllabi, and his trademark look continues to resonate with fashionistas young and old.

Tickets for Luckiest Guy Alive are priced from £24.50 and can be purchased online or by contacting the box office at Weymouth Pavilion. Doors open at 7.30pm.
