A PIONEER of Balearic house music is coming to town.

Steve Proctor will perform at a Café Mambos style event at Aura Café Bar in Weymouth on Saturday, June 29 from 3pm to 3am.

Steve established himself at a cutting-edge night in Liverpool in the 80s. Introducing bands such as Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Ultravox and the Human League, Steve went on to audition for the lead part in TV’s The Tube. Steve then started the Balearic / Acid house scene and worked at Shoom with the likes of Danny Rampling, Paul Oakenfold, Andy Wetherall and Terry Farley.

He will be joined by Dorset DJ Jon Langford, who hails from Bournemouth and has played at the Manor nightclub, Madisons and Heritage.

Support on the night will be from local Mi Casa residents DJs and producers Sweet LA (Garry Brookes, Paul Bown & Shawn Keys), Jay Rees, DJ House Room and Paul Harmer.

This will be a family friendly event in the day from 3pm until 10pm and then the party continues inside.
