A CONCERT featuring the very best of the musicals can be heard in Weymouth this weekend.

It's Showtime - The Very Best of the Musicals will be performed by One Voice Choir Weymouth on Saturday, June 8 at 7pm at Weymouth Bay Methodist Church.

It’s Showtime is a fabulous tour through some of the best songs from the musicals throughout the ages from the well known My Fair Lady through to the fun (and fast!) Jai Ho from that wonderful Bollywood-style extravaganza Slumdog Millionaire.

Last month the One Voice Choir performed the concert at St Martin's Church in Martinstown, near Dorchester.

One Voice raised money for My Place Dorset, a day service for young adults with autism and additional needs, which is based in Weymouth.

The Choir, directed by their musical director Grazina Ellis, sang to a packed audience accompanied as by pianist Michael Lobb and a jazz quartet comprising Trevor Whiting on the saxophone and clarinet (who played two jazz solos during the concert) together with Ross McTeague on the electric guitar and Clive Thomas on the drums.
