SEE a sneak preview of artwork made by members of a new creative group.

The artwork can be seen at the Langmoor Room atop the Parade Shelters in Lyme Regis from Saturday (1) onwards.

Whether you are an artist based in the Lyme Bay region, or an admirer of the artwork created by these artists, there are some exciting developments about to happen on your doorstep.

An independent, members-based, not for profit community interest company, Lyme Bay Arts CIC, has recently been formed.

Its aim is to build sustainable platforms on which artists working in every medium and community arts organisations in the south west can collaborate on exhibitions, workshops and other art, educational and social events.

In keeping with its commitment to outreach and short-term venues and events, Lyme Bay Arts is launching a promotional five weeks of art exhibitions, fairs and workshops in June and July on Lyme Regis’s Marine Parade.

From June 1 until July 6, the Langmoor Room atop the Parade Shelters will be hosting a sneak preview of some of the members’ artwork, often stewarded by the artists themselves.

On the weekend of June 29 to 30, the Lister Room will become a drop-in art workshop for all those who have wanted to try their hand at drawing and painting, run by experienced artists like Lyme resident Christine Allison. Also on June 29 (as well as on July 6), a number of Lyme Bay artists will be showcasing their work at stalls in the Parade’s Performance Area.

This summer programme offers something for everyone, and if you would like to be kept informed of new showcases as they are added, contact go to lymebayarts.co.uk, email phil@lymebayarts.co.uk or via Facebook or Twitter @lymebayarts
