There's never a dull moment this weekend with shows, dances and multiple events taking place in the area.

*NOW in their 11th year of touring, Rule The World is said to be one of the best Take That production shows in the world, and they’re coming to Weymouth Pavilion. Starting at 7.30pm on Friday, May 17, the tribute act will take you through all the highlights of the band’s career, featuring the biggest hits including Greatest Day, Shine and Let Me Entertain You. *THE Weldmar Hospicecare’s Big Dorset Cuppa event is back for another year, and it’s bigger than ever. Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester is holding a relaunch party at 2pm on Friday, May 17, where visitors will be treated to tea, cake, a talk from Dorset Tea and a chance to sign up for your own fundraising pack. *PUT on your dancing shoes and head along to Piddle Valley’s Barn Dance on Friday, May 17, at 7.15pm. People of all ages and abilities are invited to this fun-filled evening, which is being held at the Piddletrenthide Memorial Hall. Whether you come as a group, a couple, or by yourself, you’ll be warmly welcomed. Tickets are available on the door.

*IT’S the last chance to experience the fresh talent of Weymouth College music students on the final night of their summer tour. Uncovered is putting on an evening of live music at The Boat That Rocks, Portland Marina, on Friday, May 17, at 8.30pm. Expect to hear professional cover material from artists like Stevie Wonder, Queen, The Killers and Oasis. Entry is free.

*I’M Sorry I Haven’t a Clue’s long-serving pianist Colin Sell will treat audiences to an evening of comedy and music on Saturday, May 18, at the Dorchester Corn Exchange. From 8pm, the musician will share anecdotes from his esteemed career on radio, in cabaret and on stage, where he has worked with Barry Cryer, Willie Rushton and Dora Bryan. Colin will also perform his own and others’ comedy songs, reclaiming centre stage after years of being the butt of jokes on I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue. Tickets are available from Dorchester Arts.

*THE scene of a buzzing Honky Tonk in downtown Tennessee will be recreated on stage at Weymouth Pavilion on Saturday, May 18. A Country Night in Nashville will perform songs by the biggest country stars both past and present, transporting audiences on a musical journey through the history of the genre. Expect to hear hits by Johnny Cash and Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson and Little Big Town. Tickets for this unmissable evening, which begins at 7.30pm, can be bought online from the Weymouth Pavilion website.

*ROLL up, roll up, and get your skates on, for the Roller Planet roller disco is coming to Weymouth Pavilion. Two sessions will run on Sunday, May 19, from 1-3pm and 4-6pm. All ages and abilities are welcome and the experience promises fun for all the family. Tickets are available on the door and cannot be booked in advance.

*THE Guilty Feminist: Live calls into Dorset this weekend.

The Guilty Feminist podcast has become a comedy phenomenon with more than 60 million downloads since it launched in December 2015. Comedian Deborah Frances-White and her guests discuss their noble goals as 21st century feminists and their hypocrisies and insecurities which

undermine those goals.

Deborah will be inviting a range of local activists and charities to join her on-stage panel as they delve in to a myriad of topics facing us today.
