A WORDSMITH and storyteller will appear at Bridport Story Cafe along with a performer and artist.

Amy Douglas and Lucy Wells will perform The Green Road at Bridport Story Cafe at the Lyric Theatre in Bridport on Wednesday, May 22 at 7.30pm.

Amy Douglas is a storyteller of integrity, wit and subtle humour. She has delved deep into the folklore of Britain, revelling in tales of the strange and macabre. Stories to make you smile, sigh or shiver. She returns to Bridport Story Café with musician Lucy Wells and a story of time shifts, bold rescues, accordion music and fairies.

Two parallel worlds, tangled yet separate – only the Green Road bridges the gap. There have always been whispers of the ‘other world’ and the dangers of crossing its borders. Perilous and beautiful, mysterious and alluring, the Green Road beckons.

Amy has been an integral part of the re-emergence of storytelling in Shropshire in particular and Britain in general. She is an award-winning author, stunning ballad singer and a passionate advocate of the spoken word. Lucy Wells is a performer and artist as well as musician. She has a deep-rooted love of the natural world and sees traditional story as the heartbeat of our connection with the world around us.
