CRICKET lovers are in for a treat as legend David Gower has announced he’s coming to Lyme Regis.

The former England cricket captain has added an extra string of dates to his debut tour due to overwhelming demand. He’ll be welcomed at the Marine Theatre on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

Visitors to the On the Front Foot tour can expect tales of Gower’s stellar sporting career, from captaining his national team to victory in the Ashes and flying that Tiger Moth over Queensland. The current Sky Sports Cricket lead anchor will also share his thoughts on this year’s fixtures, including the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Often described as the most stylish left-handed batsman of all time, David Gower is one of England’s finest cricket captains and players. He played 117 test matches and 114 One Day Internationals (ODIs), before retiring in 1993.

Since his retirement, David Gower has enjoyed an esteemed career in broadcast and journalism. He spent five years as a commentator for BBC, also presenting Gower’s Cricket Monthly and David Gower’s Cricket Weekly on BBC 5Live. After two years as the Sunday Express cricket correspondent, and two more as a columnist for the Sunday Telegraph, he then wrote a well-received column for the Sunday Times for 10 years.
