A RECIPE for a magical evening is promised at Milton Abbey on Saturday, April 27 at 7pm.

A Three Nations Concert will include choirs from Dorchester, Lübbecke and Bayeux and will feature music by Handel, Brahms, Fauré and Tavener.

Dorchester Choral Society will host members of Kantorei an San Andreas from Lübbecke,in Germany and L'Orphéon de Bayeux, from France.

Over the course of three days of workshops and under the direction of Colin Howard, Heinz Hermann Grube and Daniella Lapierre, the choirs will come together to rehearse short, popular pieces of classical choral music from across Europe – including Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus.

The culmination of the workshops will be a concert, attended by the mayors of Dorchester and Bayeux, in the beautiful surroundings of the 15th century abbey church at Milton Abbey.

Director Colin Howard said: "The language of music unites us all. I know that singers from these different countries and traditions will quickly come together to form one choir, delivering an exciting international programme.”
