IT’S the longest running show of any kind in the history of theatre. Now audiences in Dorset will have the chance to find out why The Mousetrap has kept people guessing for so long.

Agatha Christie’s masterful whodunnit returns to Lighthouse, Poole for a five-night run on Tuesday, January 21 in 2020. Tickets are on sale now.

Having opened at the Ambassadors Theatre in London on November 25 in 1952, 67 years later it is officially the world’s longest running play.

A tour spokesman said: “The scene is set when a snowstorm closes in on a country house, trapping a group of strangers inside who discover to their horror that a murderer is lurking in their midst. Who can it be and why have they come to Monkswell Manor?

“One by one the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts until at the last, nerve-shredding moment the identity and the motive are finally revealed. Experience shuddering suspense and – the key to the continues success of The Mousetrap – a brilliantly intricate plot where murder waits around every corner. and remember… keep the secret!”

The Mousetrap is at Lighthouse Poole’s centre for the Arts from Tuesday, January, 21 to Saturday, January 25 in 2020 at 7.45pm.

On Wednesday and Saturday there will also be a matinee performance starting at 2.30pm.
