WRITERS queued up to read at the recent Flash Fiction Story Slam held at Bridport Arts Centre.
Hosted by the centre's Bridport Prize, the event was run by Frances Colville of Dorset Writers Network and MC’d by Declan Duffy.
Flash Fiction is the art of the very, very short story and is sometimes known as micro-fiction. In this instance, writers were invited to read aloud a story they had written of 250 words or fewer. The 250 limit matches that of the Flash Fiction competition run annually by the Bridport Prize.
Some 18 writers read a fantastic variety of work to an appreciative audience.
The stories were judged by a panel including writer and chairman of Dorset Writers Network, Gail Aldwin, BridLit director Tanya Bruce-Lockhart and bookseller Shelby Foster, who works at Waterstones.
